Welcoming Mr Karl Guest as the New Headmaster of St Columba’s College

St Columba’s College is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Karl Guest as the new Headmaster, commencing his role on September 1, 2023. With a wealth of experience and a passion for education, Mr. Guest brings a fresh perspective and the college is thrilled to welcome him.

Karl Guest comes to St Columba’s College with an impressive background in education, in both single-sex and co-educational leadership. For seven years, Karl served as the Deputy Head of Sydenham High School in London, where he made significant contributions to the school’s growth and success. In April 2020, he took on his first Headship at Alton School, showcasing his leadership skills and dedication to enhancing the educational experience for students.

Upon joining St Columba’s College, Mr. Guest expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I am thrilled to be joining St Columba’s and being a part of the Columban community. I look forward to welcoming you all.” His warmth in becoming a member of the school community reflects his commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for both students and faculty.

Karl is known has been described by colleagues as ‘good-humoured’, and outside of his professional life, Mr. Guest is known for his diverse interests. He is an avid follower of sports, which undoubtedly aligns with our school’s commitment to promoting physical well-being and teamwork. Moreover, his love for cooking, music, and travel underscores his passion for exploration and creativity, values that will undoubtedly enrich our school’s culture.
