Sweet Success: CAFOD House Bake Off 2024 on Friday, February 16th
Get ready for a delectable display of creativity as we announce the eagerly anticipated CAFOD House Bake Off 2024, set to take place on Friday, February 16th. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their culinary talents, and we extend a warm invitation for parents to join in the fun and support their child’s baking endeavours.
The Competition Categories
This year’s Bake Off features several exciting categories:
– ‘Best House-themed Cake’
– ‘Best Small Cakes’
– ‘Top 3 Cakes’
– ‘Best Form 1 Cake’
– ‘Best World Cultures Cake’
Unlike last year’s ‘Favourite Subject’ class, the Sixth Form CAFOD team has chosen the theme ‘World Cultures’ for 2024. This theme is open to interpretation, allowing for creative expressions related to heritage, national monuments, or historical events. All designs must be respectful, and judging will be conducted by the Sixth Form CAFOD team.
Judging and Recognition
Heads of House will evaluate House-themed cakes, while Mr. Brown will judge the Best Form 1 entry. All participating students will be credited for their efforts on their SHAPE profile and within their respective Houses. Students who prefer not to make a cake can opt to create biscuits for the ‘Best Small Cakes’ category.
On the Day Guidelines
To ensure a smooth event, we kindly ask parents to provide inexpensive containers for transporting cakes. Cake-eating will take place during the final lesson of the day, with container collection scheduled for 3.45 pm. Consider limiting cake sizes for easy distribution and labelling containers clearly for efficient return. All baked goods must have clearly listed ingredients, and please note that our school is nut-free.
Supporting CAFOD Charity
This year, we share the story of James, a fisherman facing life-threatening challenges to provide for his family. Your support for CAFOD can make a significant difference in helping individuals like James access the necessary safety equipment and tools for a secure livelihood. To raise funds, we encourage donations to CAFOD via the Gateway, with a recommended payment of £2 or more. Card readers will also be available on the day.
Join Us for a Cause
Let’s come together to make the CAFOD House Bake Off a sweet success and contribute to a great cause. Your support will go a long way in helping those who, like James, strive to meet the bare minimum for survival.
We express our gratitude for your ongoing support, and we eagerly anticipate the mouth-watering creations that will make this half-term finale memorable.
Donate via gateway.
