Lest We Forget
On Remembrance Sunday, our pupils, alumni (Edward, Matt, Ralph, Finlay and Mr Burns) along with staff from St Columba’s College Combined Cadet Force, together, on behalf of the whole College, proudly laid two wreaths to honor and remember those who lost their lives during the war along with Captain James Philipson (former Columban) is remembered on the cenotaph (he sadly lost his life in Afghanistan).
They took part in the Parade of Standards & Service at the Park Street War Memorial. It is during occasions like today we unite as a college with our wider community ….
It was lovely to welcome our first girls to our CCF where Mila laid our wreaths with Edward and Tristen read the poem ‘Remember Me’. A two minute silence was observed during which we remember the conflicts in the past and also our military personnel currently serving overseas.
