Admissions Process
The purpose of the admissions process a St Columba’s is to ensure a clear, welcoming and fair pathway for families seeking to join our community.
It is designed to identify pupils who will thrive academically, socially, and personally within the college’s Catholic ethos and nurturing environment. The process aims to build strong relationships with prospective families, providing them with the information and support needed to make an informed decision. It also helps to ensure a good fit between the student’s needs, aspirations, and the values and opportunities offered at St Columba’s College.
At each phase of education – Prep, Senior and Sixth Form – we nurture the key Columban qualities of Courage, Courtesy and Compassion. We strive for academic excellence whilst realising that it is a well-rounded education that best prepares our young people for the world and workplace.
We believe young people deserve an education that is as wide as possible, with absolutely no compromise on excellence. For us, this means that our students leave us as young Columban’s intellectually able and curious with a breadth of experience to further develop a moral compass that will foster happiness in themselves and others.
Applications
Applications now open for September 2025 entry.
We welcome applications from boys and girls into Reception, Prep 1-6, Year 7 (Form 1), Year 9 (Form 3), and Year 12 (Sixth Form).
For any other Year Groups (i.e. Years 8 or 10) or mid-year entry please contact the Admissions department on admissions@stcolumbascollege.orghttp://mailto:admissons@stcolumbascollege.org or 01727 892040 to check availability. Late applications are also being accepted for certain Year Groups, please contact us to check availability. Overseas applicants – please note the assessment process can only take place in person at St Columba’s College.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer the option to defer the offer of a place to a later year.
