Summer Fest – Community at Its Best

There are days at St Columba’s College that remind you just how special our community truly is — and the Columban Summer Fest was exactly that.

The event brought together pupils, parents, staff, alumni and friends for an afternoon bursting with activities for absolutely everyone. Whether you were enjoying the delicious BBQ, grabbing a crêpe or an ice cream, or relaxing with a well‑earned Pimm’s in the sunshine, the atmosphere throughout was nothing short of brilliant.

Our student band delivered a fantastic set of crowd favourites — a proud moment that showcased the exceptional talent within our school. Meanwhile, the inflatables, Hook‑a‑Duck, silent disco, face painting and chocolate tombola kept spirits high and smiles wide, from our youngest visitors to the adults who needed no encouragement to join in.

The drinks truck, cupcake stall and a whole host of other activities rounded off what became a vibrant, joy‑filled afternoon — one that felt less like a school event and more like a true celebration of the incredible community we share.

This was the first time the Columban Summer Fest has run as a whole‑school event, and it’s clear it’s growing year on year. and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped raise funds for our school. Your generosity directly supports the opportunities and experiences we can offer our pupils, and we are truly grateful.

We want to take this opportunity to shine a light on some truly wonderful people without whom the Columban Fest would not have been possible. Ellie, Julie and the Maintenance Team — your behind‑the‑scenes support was absolutely invaluable. Angela from Catering — thank you for your flexibility and warmth in accommodating us at every turn. And to Mrs Marsden, Mr McCann and Mr Guest — thank you for all your support too. And a big thank you to all our families who attended and supported Summer Fest it was so good to see so many people there enjoying the day.
