KitAid donation to sister school in Zambia

Charity Trips

With the wonderful support of Watford FC and the charity KitAid, St Columba’s College students and staff were able to deliver brand new football kit to their sister school, St Francis Secondary School in Malole, Zambia.

Each year, Sixth Form students and staff from St Columba’s College in St Albans undertake the ‘Project Respond’ programme that was inaugurated in 1991 to meet the needs of young people in Zambia. Alongside delivering the football kit, staff and students also renovated the school’s dining room before continuing their project to support the Labuto Child Care Centre in Kabwe, where they helped to care for orphan children.

Mrs Ilze De Vos, a teacher at St Columba’s College says: “We are very grateful to KitAid for the generous donation of football kit for Zambian children, who were delighted with the amazing donation.”

For over 20 years, the Kit Aid charity have been supplying donated kit across Africa to underprivileged children, teenagers and adults to enable them to enjoy the beautiful game in some of the world’s poorest countries.
