Congratulations to Brother Paul on celebrating his golden jubilee of religious life as a Brother of the Sacred Heart! This marks an impressive 50 years of service to the Brothers, of which 39 have been spent here at the St Columba's College. To mark the occasion we were joined for the afternoon by the many alumni and staff that Brother Paul has taught and worked with over the years, reminiscing about fond memories over food and drink.
He joined the Brothers at the age of sixteen, before gaining a BA in English from Providence College in Rhode Island, and arrived at the College in 1980. Since then, he has taught in both the Prep and Senior School, most notably as a PE master in his preferred sport, rugby. He returned to America to complete an MA in Biblical Studies and traveled to Zambia to teach trainee Brothers, and has been with us ever since.
Brother has also worked with parent volunteers scanning materials from the Archives, and kept up links with thousands of Old Columbans, a valuable asset for the school's continued development. He now works closely with all levels of the Prep School as a teaching assistant, and has taken on the role of superior of the Brother's Household at Watling House.
Congratulations once again Brother, and thank you for your many years of dedication to the school!
