Senior School Library Awarded the Gold SLS-UK School Library Award

The Senior School Library has been awarded the Gold SLS-UK School Library Award. This is a national award which recognises achievement in 20 key areas such as; Library promotion and events, involvement of pupils, Library stock, staffing and budget. The Gold award is given to high achieving schools who are recognised as enhancing thei libraries in at least 15 of the identified areas.

The award is accredited by the School Library Association, the Association of Senior Children’s and Education Librarians (ASCEL), CILIP School Library Group and EES for Schools.

The award is a new national scheme which ‘rewards good work going on in school libraries across the UK to raise literacy levels and educational achievement and to promote a love of reading’, ASCEL.
