Prep 4 Egyptian Workshop

Prep School Events

Prep 4 were visited by Anouk from 'History off the Page' for an exciting interactive day where they learned about everyday life in ancient Egypt and some of their customs and traditions.

During the morning they took part in a range of workshops to learn some of the trades and skills that Egyptians would have learnt. These included: making Canopic jars, perfume cones, an amulet bracelet, learning the skills of a scribe, painting a mini tomb fresco and creating an embalming ointment which they used to make a mummy. As they completed each workshop they offered their creations to the gods in traditional ancient Egyptian style. In the afternoon they split into different groups and put on performances for the Pharaoh. They also enjoyed an Egyptian banquet with bread, wine, cheese and fruit.
