The Columban Chorus needs you!

Columban Community Events

The Columban Chorus is a vocal ensemble for parents, staff, friends, Old Columbans and members of the local community. The ensemble is often amalgamated with the College Choir for large events and concerts, such as the Carol Service in St Albans Cathedral, and you and your friends are invited to come along. Having stretched ourselves to sing Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs in the Spring, we will be rehearsing music for the annual Carol Service which takes place on Thursday 7th December, and for a performance of Handel’s Messiah (Part 1 Christmas) to take place at the church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory, Warwick Street, London, W1, on Saturday 9th December.

Rehearsals will take place on Monday evenings in the Chapel, 7.30pm – 9.00pm and begin from the 18th September. If you have an any interest, then do come along and give it a try – everybody will be made most welcome and the rehearsals usually are great fun! Please email your interest and availability to Andrew MacKenzie, the Music Department Administrator at MacKenzie.a@stcolumbascollege.org, as soon as possible. It would be useful to indicate your voice part if you know it (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), but do not worry if you are unsure. I look forward to working with many of you in due course and thank you for your continued support.
