Swimming Success for Seb

Senior School Sport

It has been a busy summer for Form 3 student Seb Williams, as he competed in and enjoyed great success in two swimming competitions.

At the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA) 2017 School Games, held in Loughborough from 31st August - 4th September, Seb was part of the England East team. He competed in two races, getting a massive Personal Best in the 400 Meter freestyle and coming close to his Personal Best  in the 100 Meter backstroke.  Seb was the third youngest swimmer out of all of the swimmers from the UK and Ireland. Lower Sixth student Ralph Muncer was also there, representing the England East team, and Ralph was able to help Seb over the four day event. Both Seb and Ralph were in the England East team of 24 swimmers. The team came 4th overall, just missing out on 3rd place by a few points.

At the end of June, Seb competed in the National Junior Para-swimming Championships in Sunderland. He won four gold medals and one silver medal. Seb is pictured here with his medals. Well done Seb!
