Prep River Study

Prep School Trips and Extended Curriculum

This week, Prep Six were out and about in St.Albans conducting a river study as part of our Field Skills unit of work. We visited three sites along the River Ver where we measured the width, depth and flow of the river using a variety of techniques and equipment. We also went 'Pond Dipping' (or in fact 'River Dipping' to be pedantic) to see what sort of 'minibeasts' lived in this habitat and then recorded and sketched our findings. Fortunately the weather held up and with the exception of the odd wet sock, we achieved our objectives without incident and the boys had a fantastic and enjoyable afternoon. We will now write up, analyse and present our findings over the course of the next few SS lessons.
