Lenten Choral Concert

Music and Performance Columban Community

On Friday 24th March, a wonderful Lenten Choral Concert, featuring performances by SCC’s College Choir and the Columban Chorus, was held in the College chapel.  The repertoire included major works such as; Allegri’s Miserere , Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, and Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams, sung by our student barbershop ensemble. Many members of the audience remarked on the high standard of singing by the soloists, choirs and barbershop quartet, as well as the performances on the piano and our recently acquired chapel organ, by Form 5 student, George Throup, and music teacher, Mr Stuart Miles.

Our thanks to the students, parents and members of staff for their outstanding performance and to the conductor Mr Keith Brown, Head of SCC’s Music Department, and his colleague Mr Miles.
