Model United Nations

Senior School

Last weekend, we sent ten delegates to the Model United Nations at Haileybury, representing the countries of Macedonia and Poland. The weekend started with an opening ceremony, where all 700 delegates were present, representing 193 countries. After the conference was opened, we split into our committees: Disarmament, Ecology and Environment, Economic and Social, Human Rights and Political.

The topics of discussion ranged from landmines to coral reefs, microfinance to territorial claims to the Arctic. On Saturday, we debated and voted on resolutions, and again on Sunday morning, before reconvening at the General Assembly. Overall, it was a great weekend of fruitful debate and an amazing experience.
