Support for Learning

Pupils with SEND have access to all areas of the curriculum. There is a clear understanding of the needs of individuals and specialist provision is strong. ISI Report, January 2015

Whilst we are selective at the point of entry, it may be that, during their time in the Prep, boys need support to overcome a barrier to their learning.

All pupils are individually known and their needs are usually met within the classroom through quality first teaching. Occasionally, a particular pupil or group of pupils may need a short-term intervention strategy or a slightly longer-term programme, in order to help them fully access the curriculum provided. The Learning Support Co-ordinator, who is a teacher based within the Prep School, may offer support for an individual or recommend strategies for teachers to use within their own teaching groups.
